An inn rooted in its local area
In the Roya Valley, on the road from La Pia to Tende, our mountain inn is a refuge for those who like to take their time. An ideal starting point for hikers, cyclists and contemplative types, it blends naturally into the landscape. Here, the mountains are everywhere, close and generous, and the inn becomes a place to stop, breathe and simply feel good.

A table of local produce and lively wines
At our table, every plate tells the story of the valley. Alpine cheeses, mountain vegetables, farm-raised meats, honey and wild plants: all our products come from local farms and market gardeners. Authentic cuisine, rooted in the terroir, accompanied by natural wines chosen for their character and vitality. Nothing superfluous, just the taste of what is right and good.

On the initiative of Camille Burle and Thomas Guernion, both graduates of the Ferrandi school, this mountain inn brings together local produce, natural wines and accommodation with a view, in a spirit of simplicity, sharing and authenticity. Their goal: to create a place where the cuisine and wine tell the story of the region, without artifice.
Originally from the south of France, they trained in Paris before joining prestigious establishments: Thomas spent three years at L'Arpège (***) then at Maison Barale in Nice, where he became familiar with the art of making fresh pasta. Camille, after a stint at Yam'Tcha (*), took charge of the wine cellar at Lai'Tcha, before deepening her passion for natural wines at Le Canon.
When they discovered the Roya Valley, they fell in love with this building and its surroundings. They decided to settle there and transform the place into a life project, faithful to their values of simplicity, taste and connection with nature.

Nestled at an altitude of 820 metres, La Maison de la Pia is located on the road of the same name, in the hamlet of La Pia in Tende (06430). Perched between sky and mountains, it is located just 4 km from the Italian border and 90 km from Nice, about an hour and a half's drive away.
For those travelling without a car, the valley is served by regular bus routes to the centre of the village of Tende.

About fifteen kilometres from La Pia, the Vallée des Merveilles is home to more than 40,000 rock carvings dating back to the Bronze Age, making this site one of the largest collections of petroglyphs in Europe. Accessible on foot during the season (June to October) or via guided tours from Tende, it is a must-see for nature and history enthusiasts.
In the village, the Museum of Wonders extends the experience with its exhibitions dedicated to Alpine prehistory — a free, enriching visit that is ideal for gaining a better understanding of this unique area. Take the opportunity to stroll through the medieval streets of Tende, discover the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption and the remains of the Château des Lascaris.

Trail runners will also find what they are looking for with a variety of routes starting from the village, offering elevation gains of 300 to over 1,500 metres to peaks such as the Cime du Bec Roux or Mont Chajol. Every year, local events celebrate trail running in this magnificent setting.

These quiet roads are ideal for training or enjoying a peaceful cycle tour.
